BACKGROUND:

When I was a child my favourite book was Tinker The Kitten. I would read it over and over again, gazing at the beautiful illustrations of Tinker in funny situations and I wanted to create a book that children could connect with in the same way.

It wasn’t planned, but I seem to have integrated my entire past life in one children’s book. My Fine Art training, years as a designer, writer, singer and teacher have all come together in a silly kitty song, and combined with the personalised hand-drawn illustrations, I hope I’ve created an intimate connection with ‘My Tinker’ that stays in the hearts of children forever.

EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS:

They are built in, as the the verses are written in the rhythm of spoken English - very helpful if your child is learning English as a second language and there are lots of high frequency words and sounds to help them with vocabulary and in their conversational development.

The colouring pages help the development of concentration and fine motor skills and the writing activity will stimulate their imagination and creative writing.
